"INDECISION" - The Movie Please note that there is no official release date for this project as of yet, so don't get too worked up over it. We still have more footage to shoot and a lot to review already.
I first saw Indecision in the Spring of 1984 while attending Roanoke College in Salem Virginia. It was a beautiful, warm, Spring Virginia day and the band was playing out doors on the main quad. I had never heard of them, only that they were friends of Charlottesville native, Fritz Berry, who would later become a band-mate and friend of mine. From the moment they struck their first note, I was hooked! For guys so young at the time, their sound had a polish and gloss usually only found in musicians having spent much more time together, forging their sound through the rigors of the road. Despite the precision with which they played, there was also a spontaneity and freedom from restraint in their music that left me excited and wondering what they would do next, whether it was an "INDI" classic like "Chicken in the Pot", or a classic cover like Spirit's "Animal Zoo" or Smokey Robinson's "Tears of a Clown".
Over the next few years as my own band formed and eventually parted ways, I was fortunate enough to have Ibbs, Aaron, and Doug sit in with us when we "re-united" from time to time. I always felt that I had played with some of the best musicians I had ever heard. On that golden Spring day in 1984 when the band sang "...ain 't got no worries, it's gonna be a sunny day", I knew it was...and I had just seen one of the best bands I would ever see again. |
